Welcome to Raziel Reign Egyptian Maus

The Egyptian Mau is one of the oldest breeds of domesticated cat. Evidence
suggest and experts agree, that the Mau is in fact the cat domesticated from a
spotted sub species of the African Wild Cat by the Ancient Egyptians at
least 4,000 years ago.

The American history of the breed is much shorter. The first known Maus in
the US came in the 50's. It was much later when the breed gained acceptance
by the cat registries. The Egyptian Mau remains a fairly rare breed. The Mau
comes in five colors. Bronze, smoke and silver are the most popular and
generally accepted for showing in all associations. Black and blue also occur,
but are rare and not accepted for show in CFA or Tica. UFO accepts all five
colors for show.

We breed for silver, but also get a good number of smokes, blacks and bronzes.
We have never to date had a blue Mau . doesn't mean we won't

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Egyptian Mau cost?
That varies from breeder to breeder, and overall quality of a particular kitten. In some cases color makes a
difference. Silver is the most popular and often costs more than other colored kittens. Our prices DO
include spay or neuter.  Smoke is priced from $450 and up. Bronze is $675and up Silver is $750 and up. These are
'pet' prices.

Do you ship, how much is it and what is involved?
Yes we do! The expenses of shipping are not included in the kitten's price. These costs are the
responsibility of the buyer. A veterinary health certificate is required as well as an airline approved pet
carrier. Then there's the airfare. The actual costs varies. If you do not live in the Seattle area, you can
expect to spend an extra $225-275 for shipping.

How is shipping done?
The cat will travel on an airplane in a pressurized and temperature controlled section of the plane. The cat
is put on the plane in Seattle and you pick it up at your airport. At some airports you will go to their cargo
office at others you pick up at baggage claim. No, they do not put animals on the baggage carosel ;-) An
airport worker will bring the cat in. You will have to show identification and sign some papers before you
can leave with the cat.

Are your kittens guaranteed healthy?
Absolutely! We use a written contract that covers this. No kitty leaves here without it. They are also vet
checked prior to leaving here, so we know we are only sending out healthy babies. We also have the kitten
spayed or neutered before they go. This gives us peace of mind that it's done, and saves you the hassle
of having to do it. This also helps, not only to prevent accidental litters, but also prevents certain types of
cancers and other health problems 'whole' cats can get.

Do you sell cats that are not spayed or neutered?
Occasionally, we will offer an extra special kitten with breeding rights. Generally we prefer to place
kittens as pampered pets. When we feel we have a kitten that is an extraordinary example of the breed, and
if we do not plan to keep it for ourselves AND the RIGHT Egyptian Mau breeding home is interested,
we will consider placing a breeding cat. We do have a very strict contract, that we insist upon using when
placing a cat as a breeder.

How much does a cat cost with breeding rights?
That varies a lot from one cat to another, depending on the overall quality of the cat, the lineage behind it,
etc. Ballpark prices - Bronze or smoke, $1200-$1500. Silver, $1500-$2000. Any cat we sell with
breeding rights will have no show faults or penalties, and fertility is guaranteed on our Maus

How much is stud service?
We do NOT do open stud service.
We do have a few select breeders we work closely with, so you may see one of our males as the sire of another breeders
litter from time to time when we choose to co-breed a litter,  but in general we do not provide stud service.

Do you sell Maus for use in hybrid programs?
No. Despite all the rumors, lies, and referrals we do not, nor have we ever sold an Egyptian Mau to be
used in a hybrid program. If you are looking for a cat to breed to your Savannah, please have a look at our
Savannahs.
